Actually no, that was my personal opinion and the TSG meeting had a different one:
http://trac.tspre.org/meetbot/meego-meeting/2010/meego-meeting.2010-03-31-19.58.html
Repository working group (qgil, 20:27:21)
1. http://wiki.meego.com/Proposal_for_a_Repository_working_group (qgil, 20:29:36)
2. I am not sure that we need a working group for this... in many ways, this is part of the project structure itself... part of that will be part of our "Garage" plans (much similar to the Maemo and Moblin Garage concepts" (ImadSousou, 20:31:44)
3. lbt: I really like where you are going with this... and in many ways, it is larger than a working group (ImadSousou, 20:32:19)
4. I think we should have a discussion on the dev and community lists regarding the garage (ImadSousou, 20:34:13)
5. <@ImadSousou> lbt -- I think what we really need is a garage "maintainer" with various submaintainers to do things rather than a working group... (qgil, 20:37:21)
6. <@valhalla__> But definetly application extras is something needed (qgil, 20:37:35)
7. lbt -- hey, do you mind if we discuss this more on the mailing lists before we decide? are you OK with this?? This is a very important topic, and I am not quite certain on what the right answer is to be quite honest with you (ImadSousou, 20:38:18)
8. QUESTION: if we're going with a garage model, how does the community contribute packages for inclusion, for say binary drivers (via slaine) (DawnFoster, 20:38:58)
9. I suspect that it will have seeral aspects... with hosting, etc... with a developer "owns" thier area, etc... (ImadSousou, 20:40:18)
10. AGREED: the discussion will follow in meego-dev. This topic is considered important and there is not common understanding to decide now (qgil, 20:40:44)
So please, if you are interested in discussing the "unsupported" repository policies, ownership, etc go to meego-dev, as agreed in the TSG meeting.
