Hi there,

The registration for the MeeGo Conference will be open at http://conference2010.meego.com/ soon - as soon as some little details are solved. The registration will include an option for participants to request sponsorship, following the tradition of free software events.

Now, we need to polish the details about this sponsorship:

- Budget. This is something to be discussed basically within the conference budget owners: Amy, Dawn and myself with assistance of the Linux Foundation. The idea is to match or (if possible) beat the sponsorship levels offered by LF events, as well as Maemo & Moblin events in the past. Hopefully we won't need to worry about this.

- Deadlines. The reference dates we have now are August 23 (call for proposals deadline) and September 24 (accepted proposals communicated). One option would be to set the deadline to request sponsorship also on August 23, and go through few iterations approving requests and booking flights to make the best use of the budget available.

- Acceptance criteria. Usually it is a combination of approved speakers, renowned contributors of MeeGo and related projects and volunteers involved in the organization. We have to define if approved speakers and tech media would be sponsored from this budget or if there will be separate budgets to cover them. Anything else?

- Who decides. I will coordinate this but I hope not to be the only one. Someone from the LF must be involved. And someone else because 3 decide more than 2. But in a case like this 3 probably decide better than 4 or more... Any thoughts?

Anything else missing?
