Yes, that should have been reported as a bug instead of mailing here :)

http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10875 is one already reported
with exact same issue, let's see if it gets fixed.

When you're not in R&D mode, when you just plug in the USB cable while
device is off it turns on the device but with low back light.

The reason for this is that when it boots into Maemo, it activates
'ACT_DEAD' mode, for the device to charge with.
