While there may be something decided on & underway already, I would
recommend using the Conference module for Drupal (handy since we're
using it already).

Not only does it make it easy to upload papers & abstracts, it also
helps with paper review, and notifying authors. The only thing it
doesn't handle which would be cool is scheduling of accepted papers. But
that's what postits are for :)
