You're asking the wrong question, I think.

Do you have concrete reasoning to *not* use it, and invent something
which (at the end of the day) will perform very similar or identical
functionally, with different syntax? And likewise, are these reasons
good enough to replace what is already (presumably) finished and
operational?

Bikeshedding and "NIH" syndrome are both dangerous paths to walk down
unnecessarily, and your example makes me wonder whether you're keeping
that in mind.

(Not that I'm accusing you of either, but I've yet to see anything
concrete in this thread)
