Hi List,
As some of you might know, I have a special place in my heart for
Symbian. Therefor when I saw that the mentioned above task from [0]
had no owner and I felt compelled to try and get involved with that.
I've put my musings up at [1] and I would like to try and create some
discussion around the subject. I do think Symbian has lots of
strengths and polished parts that could be ported back to the mobile
Linux platform we are building and vice versa. It would be great if
eventually the same developer offerings could be synced between the
two sibling platforms in my view.
Please note that although I'm quite veteran with developing for Linux
in general, I'm still mostly a novice with mobile development in
general and Qt in particular. Through my learning experience I hope to
identify improvements opportunities and make it easier to people that
will start with Mobile development for Symbian and MeeGo. In a similar
position where I am only months from now.
Thanks goes for Quim and Ville in encouraging this post and wiki edit.
