It's in the wiki: http://wiki.meego.com/File:Organizing_committee.pdf
There are minutes from the initial IRC meeting last night:
http://trac.tspre.org/meetbot/meego-meeting/2011/meego-meeting.2011-01-25-17.00.html
and the call for venues for the European venue is out:
http://wiki.meego.com/MeeGo_Conference_Fall_2011
To submit a venue, you just need to ensure that it fulfills a small
number of criteria first:
* Capable of holding 2000 people
* Available on the dates mentioned
* In a city with easy access via air and good accommodation options
* Please include contact details for the venue ideally, so that Amy can
follow up to get more info and book.
So things are opening up. I'll admit that it's hard to keep tabs on this
right now, and I didn't get any notification of the various
announcements above on the mailing lists or blogs I follow, but I have
managed to stay informed.

Up until now, organisation meetings for the Spring conference were
either in-person or by phone. The issue is one of practicality. Issues
were things like getting a website online, finding sponsors, confirming
venues and booking hotels. Not the kinds of tasks that lend themselves
to community participation.
As the focus moves to conference content and on-site detail work, the
organising group is making an effort to enable participation outside the
core group, and that is part of why I was invited to join. So I think
that's to be applauded and encouraged.

Let me see where the notification went...
IRC meeting (I also heard about this on the call on Monday):

I mentioned this in the thread about the early events:
http://lists.meego.com/pipermail/meego-community/2011-January/003201.html
- I need to ping Dawn about it later.

I agree... This gave me a thought:

We could get people to collaboratively draw the MeeGo logo in SF with
GPS. Not much engineering feat in that, though.
Cheers,
Dave.
