There's nothing that ties the MeeGo Touch IM fundamentally to handsets. 
On a tablet type of device you have pretty much the exact same 
challenges and solutions that are already taken into account in the MTF IM.

I see the effort necessary to target a new device category such as 
tablets, as requiring primarily a new design for the UI part of the 
input method plugins in order to take advantage of the additional space 
available.
