hmmm that is a strange one. I will have a go tonight and test mine to see if it showing the same problem. Have you tried running alsamixer from the terminal application

sudo alsamixer

As I said before I cannot remember if alsamixer is also installed ( I think it is)  . My problem used to occur on Kubuntu and although the mic worked ...when skype started ...it stopped working again. Stop skype and it worked again

Even when disallowing skyp to control the sound panel the mic seems not to
work in meego. Under ³settings² in meego, it should pulseaudio server as
input and output (same as fedora) but for some reason meego is not handling
the mic although it does handle audio output perfectly ok.

Hi Barry

When I have had this problem in the past with Skype I have opened the Skype
Options button/panel on the bottom left and found I had to deselect the
allow skype to control my sound panel. I cannot remember now whether Meego
uses alsa ( not at meego computer now)  but if it does you can then use Alsa
to sort your mic settings.

The most important thing was to sort the (un) tick box letting skype sort
your sound settings

I have meego installed on an acer aspire 532. Does anyone have the
microphone working on this device with meego?

I have installed skype. The audio is working fine but the microphone is not
