Alright. This is just a pain in Outlook (or I don't know how to use it in Outlook). Let's hope the manual insertion of '>' works.

Yes, I got that. I was trying to identify the controller. It still surprises me that the controller driver was present in the 1.0 default ISO image that I installed on my box and not on the pre-defined config file in the kernel sources.

A novice question. But /var/log/messages does not contain any messages from the kernel panic, as if the compiled kernel is not dumping anything there. Is there anything I should do to enable these dumps. My /var/log/boot.log is empty as well
