I have some questions related to the FM radio API in Qt Mobility (http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qtmobility-1.0/qradiotunercontrol.html).
- The API defines a number of signals, of which at least a few are related to the FM radio HW. The FM radio HW is in other MeeGo documents said to be controlled via the V4L2 API, which do not generically support these signals/callbacks. The V4L2 API can be extended to support this, but if so, where is this then specified?
- The API only support RX. Is support for TX planned?
- There is no support for RDS reception. Is this planned?
- The API does not provide any means for controlling vendor specific functionality. Any thoughts about providing that?

Subject: [MeeGo-dev] Qt Mobility says "Hello MeeGo World!"
By way of introduction, my name is Gerard Loughran and I am a senior product manager at Nokia. My key responsibility is our Qt Mobility program and the new APIs we are bringing to Qt developers.
I wanted to make this slightly formal introduction prior to involving myself more on the lists.
Only last week we made a program decision to adopt MeeGo as our default development environment for Qt Mobility development. This I hope is great news for all of you. Our plan will involve porting all of the Qt Mobility delivered APIs to the MeeGo platform. The activity will commence gradually at first, but we anticipate it will to become the main focus of the Qt Mobility team toward the 3rd and 4th quarter of this year.
Rather than introduce our entire team here, they will in turn make themselves known over the next days/weeks and increasingly involve themselves in discussions here.
This is indeed exciting times and I very much look forward to some excellent success stories :)
