Dawn, can we get some clarification please? What is the proper place to
discuss platform porting issues?

I am not sure where the above question (and my recent questions) should
have been asked if not here. It appears a number of us are trying to
get the recent builds to port to non-N900 ARM platforms. There seems to
be a decent bit of normal growing pains about this. Even if Preshit's
question ended up being an initab issue (and I don't know if it was) it
seems he had do to do quite a bit to get that far.

     - Build a custom root file system using experimental kickstart
files, mic straight from git and the daily build repos
     - Add a custom built kernel or find one himself.
     - and all using a procedure that may or may not be completely
documented

The above is quite different than "where is the volume knob" type
questions I expect in the user forums.

Looking at that list of activities and the forum areas you point to
above, I see a pretty big disconnect. The closest match would be the
application developer support but that seems a bit of a stretch. I
grant you that my e-mails of the past week probably would have been more
appropriate on the SDK mail list. Since the key piece of information
was ARM specific would I really have got an answer in the application
developers forum?

I had assumed that the forums were for people having issues with the
released software on platforms where 100s of people had already been
successful. Preshit seems to be one of maybe 10 people that have tried
MeeGo on an ARM that was not an N900.

[of course I could just be grumpy because I am being sent to the forums
and not allowed to play with the big boys.]

Bill
