Mailing lists migration:
To be done during the weekend of 16th-17th July.
- Max to update the latest status
- one mailing list at a time will be moved
- the unavailability of the mailing lists will be experienced for max 30 minutes on the mailman website and mails will be delayed a bit but no major issues should occur
Monthly public IT meeting proposed to be
- Every last Thursday of the month @ 14:00 UTC (7AM PST) on #meego-meeting. Stefano to propose this on next CO meeting.
Monitoring:
- Adam has concerns over using Dell Open Manage to monitor the status of the servers with Nagios
- the work is done so let's stay with it for now but it will probably break when we do OS upgrade
Community OBS workers crashing:
- newer kernel tried on the cOBS worker, a bit better but still crashing under high load once a day
- Adam ordered more machines, 14 servers are coming in one week, at least 4 should be used to cOBS workers
Serving apps:
- Talks ongoing with LF to see if the usage of kernel.org for apps is viable
meego.com SSO:
- Bakery integration for meego.com is ready
- we need to test once again the full upgrade and we will then do the upgrade on meego.com and all the other drupal sites
- Tentative Migration window on Weekend 16-17th July, downtime to be expected and announced widely
- Mike : contact Ben to re-test the bakery upgrade
Denial of Services last week:
- Wed through Sat: 4 events of DoS. Someone else on OSU is using up the bandwidth and we get 100% packet loss, we don't know who yet. Investigation ongoing, LF and OSU guys involved no response yet
Outgoing traffic: saturated for a long time every Tuesday
- check here: http://netfoo.nero.net/netviewer?locale=OSUOSL-Linux-Foundation&button=Redraw&mib=ifInOctets%3AifOutOctets%3AtransitOctets%3AtransitRate&cfunc=Avg&size=XLarge&limit=100000000000&period=day&period=week&period=month
- reason is developer images are created and mirrors are picking them up
- to find a solution as this affects the web sites as well
- A mirror on a different network would be good
A lot of people are wrongly using download.meego.com
- inform people on what is where, if we don't have a mirror solution for it.
- Adam to contact Roughla who might want to do it
Stefano
