Maybe this explains why I've heard the term "software navigation" as in 
it is replacing "hardware navigation". I'm guessing to goes back to the 
auto industry being able to offer navigation as an extra, as in an extra 
silver box. Given I've got a small rectangular bit of electronics in my 
pocket that does navigation, phone calls and plays media this does seem 
a little strange to me.

But Pavel will wake up in a few hours and enlighten us.
