[meego-packaging] [MeeGo-dev] policy-settings-basic-mfld moved to backup:revert project

My misunderstanding then. I've seen several comments about PulseAudio not working without policy-settings including in this very email where Shane says "So... Who owns fixing it for PulseAudio 0.9.22? ( I was /told/ all
these issues had been fixed prior to the migration to PA 0.9.22... I
guess not)"

Hi, Joel
There's a misunderstanding here, policy-settings-* does not affect pulseaudio daemon, it just affects ohmd daemon.
Ohmd *must* start with a set of prolog rules which are part of policy-settings-* package. :)

There should be a default policy-settings that allows pulseaudio to work just the same on any board as it did before policy-settings-* were added. Then and only when a HW adaption wants to use policy-settings would it be replaced with the HW adaption specific version of policy-settings-*
regards
Joel

Agree with Share that all policy-settings-* should not be removed for that platform, otherwise ohmd will not be able to launch.

BTW, what kind of Pulse audio issues are you referring to?

I'm sorry I missed this, as I'm usually on top of things like this, but
I was in class last week when this original message was sent.
To be clear... *EVERY* platform will require it's own policy-settings-*
package, as every platform has different devices and use-cases. It
should never have been assumed it was un-needed, especially by those
familiar with ohm, libresource and policy enforcement.
Some clues would be:
1) It has a platform specific suffix, -mfld
2) All the policy-settings-* packages have a "Provides:
policy-settings" clause
The combination of the above should be a hint that at least one of
these it needed in any image *AND* they are device/platform specific.
So... Who owns fixing it for PulseAudio 0.9.22? ( I was /told/ all
these issues had been fixed prior to the migration to PA 0.9.22... I
guess not)
