[MeeGo-SDK] MeeGo 1.1 Application SDK release plan?

We'll work on clarifying the requirements.

Windows XP and Windows 7 support is a target for 1.1. Current status is that we have a sysroot and toolchain working for x86 and ARM support is in progress. The virtual machines (kqemu and virtualbox tested) are still unacceptably slow wrt graphics performance for productive development, at least for x86 (I'm not familiar with the performance with ARM targets), so you need a device for deploy and debug. We are working on improving the graphics performance with focus work on both VirtualBox and kquemu using MinGW.

Mac OS is not a target for 1.1 although I've heard that graphics performance may not be such a barrier. I hope that we can have support by the end of the year, but that is not committed yet.

Currently MeeGo SDK does provide enough tools for application development, including:

- Netbook and Avaa images (w/skin)

- Use of chroot, Xephyr, and QEMU for building, running, and debugging.

- Configuration and use of Qt Creator IDE in above scenarios.

- http://wiki.meego.com/Getting_started_with_the_MeeGo_SDK_for_Linux

In addition to Qt and MTF, we are still working on getting WRT integrated and available. More documentation to follow.
Hope that helps a bit.
Bob

Subject: [MeeGo-SDK] MeeGo 1.1 Application SDK release plan?

Hi!

I'm trying to find out what to be expected in the Application SDK release for MeeGo 1.1, but the info on the wiki (http://wiki.meego.com/SDK/MeeGo_1.1_Application_SDK_Project_Plan) is still a draft and a lot of the features are stated as 'just a dream'.

Is Windows XP to be supported? http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2908 says ACCEPTED, but without target build.
I can't find any info on Mac OS X support either?

A top notch application SDK is of course a major key to attract application developers to the MeeGo community.
