============================
During Narm holidays, Dominig will chair the meeting on June 28th and Rudolf will chair the meeting on July 7th and 12th.
c) Nomination for key positions
=========================
A Narm having not received any more nomination for the key positions (extended deadline was today), the nomination made by Intel are put forward to the group.
As there was no comment and no objection, the group accept to propose to the TSG to nominate Dominig Ar Foll (Intel OTC) as project Leader and Architect and Paula Suthern (Intel OTC) as Product Manager.
Rudolf takes the action to move this proposition to the TSG.
Paula and Dominig will have to provide a small background information on themselves to Rudolf.
d) Telecom Italia specifications proposal ================================ Nico had accepted to update his document to integrate priorities during the last meeting, while he confirms that he will post the new version has soon as possible, the group has discussed some concepts from the existing version which is present on the MeeGo Wiki.

1) Requirement collection
--------------------------------
Paula will collect the requirement and introduce them in the the MeeGo public Bugzilla system (Missing features are managed as bug in MeeGo).
Action Paula
2) Non public code
------------------------
Dominig recalls to the group that while TV has a definite needs for support of DRM and CA system, MeeGo remains an open source project that cannot include non public code in its core.
Support by MeeGo TV of CI+ and DRM will have to be limited to implementation of API which will ease the integration of private non open source modules in the final solution.
Rudolf propose that the integration of an open DRM framework such as Marlin would likely be a good idea as it would create a good foundation for more DRM integration in final products as required by the final integrators. It is agree that it's a direction that should be investigated.
A similar issue exists with DVB tuner drivers and while the group agrees thats they would like to get an open source implementation of a DVB stack, the capabilities of the opensource version might be limited.
3) Input control
-------------------
Telecom Italia wants that MeeGo offers a generic model to map any type of remote in a generic way.
Dominig informs the group that in the implementation of the remote control done in MeeGo TV 1.2, a configuration file has been created which allows that mapping. Specific application by application mapping can be further configured via the winddow manager. See mailing list post.

Dominig, informs the group that the Khronos group (Open Standard for Media Authoring and Acceleration) has created a working group in charge of defining a unified API for sophisticated input devices (gamepad, gesture, ...). The early information available shows that it will be likely a good generic solution that we want to build on.

4) TV specific API
-----------------------
Nico informs the group that Telecom Italia is working on a set of TV specific API with an internal team. Telecom Italia could try to push that API in MeeGo at a later phase.
Dominig responded that engineers at Intel where already working for the implementation of the UMMS and the Javascript API for MeeGo TV 1.3. The project team is basing its work on the Declarative Application Environment 2.0 as defined by the Open IPTV forum API. for more see :

Dominig informs the group that the Khronos group has also a proposal for DTV which is worth to consult before any decision on API.

In order to avoid duplication of effort Nico and Dominig have agreed to organise a conference call between the engineers in the project to check if synergies can be found. Dominig to setup the call.
5) remote management
------------------------------
Nico clarifies that Telecom Italia would like to get a remote management solution and a remote configuration.
He would like to get a solution based on TR-069 but acknowledge that
TR-069 being only suitable to managed network, it cannot cover all the needs.
Dominig informs the group that the company Mirifice (Bath, UK,
http://www.mirifice.com/index.html) is proposing to open source their low level agent collection what could be a great addition to MeeGo TV toward that direction of proposing an integrated remote management solution.
For the remote configuration, Telecom Italia is working internally on a concept and Nico will come back later to the group with more info.
Next meeting 21 June at 10pm Pacific Time.
