Hi Hui,
As you correctly pointed out, XBMC requires 3D acceleration to run
acceptably, it can be compiled to run with just software acceleration
but it's not worth talking about because performance will be
unacceptable.
The XBMC in the meego TV repo/OBS (devel:tv:1.2) is based on Dharma
(10.1) and requires OpenGL 2.0 (not GLES 2), this is a long story and
hopefully will shortely be resolved with a move to an XBMC running on
OpenGL ES 2.0. However this wont help you on a platform without 3D
acceleration. There are versions of XBMC that will run on non Intel CE
platforms on the public OBS, the version on the official meego OBS is
fairly stripped and will only work properly on a platform with GDL.
Running something like enna/efl on directfb might be your best bet
though the project is fairly inactive, as Dominig pointed out,
lightweight HTML5 UIs may be easier/better.
Cheers,
Brendan
